The reason I believe the enduring friendship between Batman & Superman is beloved by so many people is because of how different they are & how they are perceived.
Superman is actually an alien from another planet but yet he’s seen as a symbol hope, of all of our best traits. Batman who is a mere man is seen as a monster, an urban legend, seen as something that strikes fear into the heart of the wicked.
Superman is the light. Batman is the darkness.
Superman’s soul mate is a beautiful reporter. Batman’s fate is only truly intertwined with his greatest enemy a clown. Which is tragic for Batman, we all want our heroes to have that happy ending & it seems as if no matter what he does he can’t escape tragedy.
They are a like in one way, their superhero persona is their true self. While who they are in the day is not who they really are. Clark Kent is the facade, Bruce Wayne is the mask.
